Registering with the Practice

To register with the surgery:

If you wish to register with our Practice, you can do so during our usual opening hours. If you have an NHS card please bring it with you at the time of registration. You will also need to bring proof of identification.

Alternatively you can download the registration form above and email this to the practice at wi.benbecula@ nhs.scot. You can also register online – visit the next page for information.

When you register you will be offered a new patient medical. This will be carried out by a member of clinical staff. A separate appointment will be given for this to be done.

You will be added to the practice list and not to the list of an individual doctor and can be seen by any of the doctors.

Medical treatment is available from the date of registration. Please contact reception for further information. More information is available at NHSinform.

Temporary Residents

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for up to three months.

After three months you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.

To register as a temporary patient, simply contact the Practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.
