Breast Screening
This service is provided by the Scottish Breast Screening Service whereby a mobile unit is brought to the island every 3 years and invitations for breast screening by mammography are sent to all women in the 50-70 age group registered with the practice.
Women under the age of 50 will not be screened in line with national health policy. When the mobile unit is due in our area this will be advertised in the local paper.
Women in the 50-70 age group who miss the screening programme and would like to be seen on a trip to the mainland please contact the Practice Nurse for advice.
Women over 70 are encouraged to attend for screening every three years.
Please contact the Practice Nurse for further information regarding referral.
